Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 27, 2026.

1. Introduction

This Policy explains how the Kaiplan app and website handle information. Your main planning data remains on your device. Kaiplan does not operate its own server that receives your Google Calendar events.

2. Data stored locally

Local events, tasks, subtasks, lists, categories, tags, preferences, settings, and backups are kept on the device. When the Google integration is enabled, the required external data is stored in a cache separate from the app's main data.

3. Google Account and authentication

Connecting a Google Account is voluntary and uses Google Sign-In. With your authorization, Kaiplan requests permissions to identify the account, access basic profile information, list calendars, and read events from selected calendars.

These permissions cover identity and basic profile information (openid, email, and profile), the calendar list in read-only mode (calendar.calendarlist.readonly), and calendar events in read-only mode (calendar.events.readonly). The app disables offline access (offlineAccess: false) and requests an access token at synchronization time to query the API.

Kaiplan does not explicitly save access or refresh tokens in its local database or include them in manual backups. Certain authentication session details may be managed internally by Google's native library.

4. Google Calendar integration

This feature lets you connect an account, list and select calendars, and read, display, cache, and synchronize selected events. It is free, optional, and read-only.

Kaiplan cannot create, edit, or delete Google Calendar events and does not push changes from local events to Google.

5. Google data accessed

6. How Google data is used

The data is used only to authenticate and identify the account, list calendars, let you select them, and synchronize and display selected events in Kaiplan. It is not sold or used for advertising, marketing, profiling, lending, or purposes unrelated to the integration.

7. Data minimization, storage, and cache

Only fields required for the integration are retained. Kaiplan does not store the complete raw response received from Google APIs. The local Google cache is separate from the app's main database and supports better performance and access to previously synchronized information.

8. Retention and synchronization

The cache may remain on the device while the account is connected, with no fixed expiration period, and is updated or replaced during synchronization. Deselecting a calendar changes its selection but is not the same as disconnecting the account or requesting the deletion of all Google data.

9. Disconnection and local deletion

When you disconnect your Google Account, Kaiplan attempts to revoke authorization and sign out. Regardless of the result of remote revocation, it physically removes locally cached Google events and calendars, local account data, and Google synchronization preferences from the device.

Disconnecting stops new synchronization and does not delete or change the original events stored in Google Calendar.

10. Backups

The manual JSON backup contains local planning data and preferences supported by restoration. It excludes the Google Account, cached Google events and calendars, authentication tokens, and Google synchronization preferences.

Android may also apply its own backup mechanisms depending on the operating system version, device settings, and platform rules.

11. Sharing, transfer, and disclosure of Google user data

Data obtained by Kaiplan through Google APIs is used exclusively to provide the Google Calendar integration within the application.

Kaiplan does not sell, rent, or share Google Calendar event content, calendar data, or other data obtained through Google APIs with advertisers, data brokers, or other third parties for advertising, marketing, profiling, or purposes unrelated to the integration.

Kaiplan does not operate a proprietary backend that receives or stores Google Calendar events. Data required for the integration remains locally on the user's device, except for communications directly required with Google services for authentication and access to the Google Calendar API.

The application uses Google AdMob for advertising; however, Kaiplan does not send Google Calendar event content, calendar data, or other data obtained through Google APIs to AdMob for ad personalization or targeting.

The website uses Formspree for its feedback form. This data flow is separate from the Google Calendar integration, and Kaiplan does not transfer Google Calendar data to Formspree.

Providers of libraries and infrastructure used by the application may process technical information necessary to operate their own services under their respective policies, but Kaiplan does not use them to share Google Calendar content.

12. Advertising

The free version may display ads provided by Google AdMob, which may process advertising identifiers and technical information according to applicable consent choices. Kaiplan does not use Google Calendar content to personalize ads.

An immediate manual synchronization may be offered after voluntarily viewing a rewarded ad. Automatic synchronization does not depend on that ad.

13. Feedback form

Submitting the website form is voluntary and separate from the Google flow. Report type, message, version, and optional device and email information are sent to Formspree. The service may also process IP addresses and browser information to operate the form and prevent abuse. Review the Formspree Privacy Policy and do not submit sensitive information.

14. Notifications

The app may request permission to send local notifications for items created in Kaiplan and for the daily summary. This statement does not mean that imported Google Calendar events receive local notifications.

15. Information protection

Measures include read-only Google Calendar access, data minimization, a separate cache, local deletion upon disconnection, excluding Google data from manual backups, and using secure mechanisms provided by the relevant APIs and libraries. No storage or transmission method is completely secure.

16. Artificial intelligence and machine learning

Google user data accessed by Kaiplan is not used to develop, improve, or train artificial intelligence or machine learning models, nor is it intentionally transferred by Kaiplan to third parties for training such models.

17. Limited Use of Google data

Kaiplan's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

18. Your controls and rights

You can use Kaiplan without connecting a Google Account, choose calendars, change your selection, disconnect the account, and manage permissions directly in your Google Account. To request privacy information or exercise applicable rights, use our support channels.
